A little while ago I asked about how to core out the center of a bangle to preserve the inside chunk. I ended up taking @keithgotschall advice (because it’s the only tool I already had) and cored out the center. Worked beautifully!

Attention wood turning friends! I just bought this amazing collection of blanks to make bangles and I’m wondering, is there a way to bore a hole in the middle while keeping the center wood intact? Like keeping the hole in the middle of the donut? I hate to waste so much beautiful wood and would love to make knobs out of the middle. Why is this making my brain 🤯? Input appreciated!!

A few days ago I posted a video asking if anyone knew what I was doing. I was shaping these plastic jaws to use while making bangles. A constant question when I make something new is, how can I get this to stay on the lathe once I remove the tailstock. I was using a jamb chuck but now I expand these jaws inside my bangle and finish the other side. These are perfect for bangles as they don’t leave marks on the inside of the bracelet.
